Why Americans cars dont last longer? Like Toyota, Nissan , Jappanesse cars go...

...on for 16 years problem free!? My 2000 Dodge Durango with 95k miles 5.9 engine the oil pressure drop when I come to a stop or hit the brake, but when I press on the gas it go back to normal, I check the engine for oil but is okay any suggest what would be causing this problem? I also replaced the oil pump and the oil pressure sensor! When the engine is cold The oil pressure stay normal it do not move even when I come to a complete stop! But once the engine warm up the oil pressure gauges start to move again. Any suggest?

sounds like everything is working normal. when the engine is cold the oil pressure is always high because the oil and engine have not come up to temp.. when the engine is to temp. the oil because thinner as a result the pressure will slowly drop of some and sometimes almost nil reading on the gauge. not a true mechanic myself but what is going on seems normal so far.

It is normal for oil pressure to be high when the engine is cold. This is regulated by an oil pressure relief valve found inside or near the oil pump. If you bought an aftermarket pump, you may have wasted your money. Perhaps oil has been used in this vehicle that is known to form huge amounts of damaging sludge, and much of your lubrication system is clogged up. It is normal for the oil pressure to drop when the engine warms. The function of the relief valve is based on temperature. Have the car looked at at the Dodge dealer. Make sure that everything is up to standard. STOP USING CHEAP OIL!!!! it is the lifeblood of the engine. For me, this means, only Mobil One or ELF oil ever sees the inside of my oilpan. This is based on testing, experience, and other factors. Oils that are made by the wax reduction method (V and QS and others) do NOT EVEN exist for me. Get it???
