I think it is the keyboard set up. Something to do with Midi Local. Has to be turned off

What is the problem with my MIDI keyboard set-up?

    Hello,
I'm having trouble using my Casio CTK-496 keyboard with a USB midi interface to use it as a MIDI keyboard. My problem is when I play something on the keyboard, it plays the built in sounds from the keyboard instead of from the software I'm using. I'm using a program called FL Studio or "Fruity Loops" and I've already set up everything correctly for MIDI there. I've checked the drivers on my cable, which is a XMidi1x1 Tab E-MU, and those are all up to date. So finally it brings me to the conclusion that there's something wrong with my keyboard (which again is a Casio CTK-496), or I don't have it set up right. I have it set to Midi Channel 1, and I've tried all the other channels ( there are 16 ), none of them work either. After that I'm not sure what to do Thanks for the help! -Adam
