Should I get the regular Sanyo Eneloops or the Sanyo Eneloops XX for my Xbox controller?

I use my controller quite frequently, so I am in need of good rechargeable batteries. I hear that both of these Eneloops are great, yet the regular has a power of 2000mAH while the latter has a power of 2500mAH. The thing is, I don't know how much power the controller consumes, so I'm not sure if I need the extra juice from the XX batteries. The downside of those is that they last for about 500 charge cycles, while the regular ones last for about 1500. Also, the regular Eneloops retain 75% of their charge for 3 years, while the XX batteries retain 75% of their charge after only 1 year. Oh, and I don't want to get a rechargeable pack, since I can use these batteries for other things as well. What would be the best choice?
