If they built a decent bike, would you buy it? I have two GMs and a Ford in the driveway. A Yamaha and a Kawasaki in the garage. I would buy American, if only HD or Victory would build something I want to ride... But 700lbs of chrome and lard, with an oversized underpowered V-twin, that couldn't out maneuver Grandma's Eldorado, just does nothing for me. And before you say they can't compete with the Japs in their own backyard, I will remind you of BMW and KTM's foray into the sporting segment. BMW used the boxer twin for 90 years, but created an L4 that rivals the Japs. KTM had never built a streetbike, until last decade. Polaris recently acquired the Indian name. If only they would built a fast Indian, like the days of lore... You cruiser boyz are so defensive. Who said I own a supersport? Because it's a Jap, it must be a rice rocket? There are a slew of bikes between the two extremes...
