    I am not sure why you had to re-charge the battery but it sounds like the alternator took a crap...... The computer does need to reset but usually only takes 3-5 minutes while running. 10 minutes in an extreme condition. But it resets while the car is running. Once you get the car running... Disconnect the negative terminal to the battery and see if the car dies. If the car dies, the alternator is no good. If you have to have it jumped to start it, your battery is no good. Batteries only last about 3 years. If the car stays running then you have another problem

    2002 Toyota Camry wont idle after battery being charged?

    Hey I just had the battery cables replaced and the battery charged up. After I drove it away it died at the red light. The car wont idle. I have heard that when the computer resets it takes time to 'relearn' the Highs and Lows. Is this the case? If so, how long until it can idle?
