I'm trying to find a French 60s song, male singer, about a guy playing his guitar; two fairly long verses.?

Most French songs are mixed happy and sad, but overall this one was pretty cheerful. Each verse had about eight lines. Don't recall if any of them repeated. My French teacher had made a bunch of tape recordings of popular music from when he had been in France and this was one of them. My impression was that it had been a big hit at the time -- mid sixties probably. The singer is talking about how he feels when he plays his guitar, or how he's going to take the guitar with him to go have fun, or something along those lines. It was definitely a youth-oriented popular song rather than a traditional ballad. The instrumentation was pretty light. It was a simple song to sing and the guitar chords themselves were pretty easy -- I sang it myself in high school in the 70s -- the problem is that I have forgotten it and can't find the song sheet either. Now I wish I remembered it.
