Yes, it will work. I did the same, I unlocked mine using the permanent unlock service from unBBlock.com and then I was able to swap networks.

I have AT&T but i want a sidekick. I've heard it will work with my AT&T SIM card...
...if its unlocked. Is that true? If i get a sidekick and it will work when unlocked, how do i unlock it?
