Check your speaker Connections for shorts. I think someone was playing a joke on you. Check all input connections for any short(s) to ground. Be sure that everything is plugged into the same outlet to prevent a possible floating hot to ground. This should get you back on line, again. Feel free to e-me. Happy Holidays!
Need help with Yamaha A/V receiver please.? My receiver is only a couple of months old. This past weekend, I had a party to celebrate my birthday and used it to play music from the cable music channels, iPod, and CD on the DVD player. Everything was fine until all of the sudden while changing songs on the ipod, the receiver turned off by itself. I turned it back on, but whenever I hit Play on a song in the iPod, then the receiver would keep shutting down automatically. I tried it with other sources of input, and the same thing would happen. I was able to turn it ON and keep it ON if there was no input going through it (for example: iPod was on Pause, then I could mess around with the sound settings, volume, etc, but when I hit play then it would go off again). I thought that it could have been an overheating feature that it had for protection, but I left it like that until the next day, tried it and the problem keeps occurring. Any suggestions please? thank you.
