I think it was an attempt to find ice and water on the moon. Either that, or we launched a preemtive strike.

    Smell this !
...yeah, the IDIOTS bombed the Moon in what "they" hoped was an attempt to find water ! (...what IDIOTS !) "they" want water...? I've heard that the Moon is "pissed" and is going to retaliate with super high tides... soon these IDIOTS will have all the water they think they can handle !

it was a geological experiment, like hundreds of others we've carried out all over the solar system.

why is this even a political issue? these experiments are planned years and sometimes decades in advance.

No, it was to find icewater or whatever, if it was a weapons test there would have been a warhead involved. it was just a satellite that was steered into the moon

It could have been, but it was suppossed to be an experiment to detect the presence of ice or water beneath the surface.
If ice was found, the the possibility of not having to transport water or tanks of hydrogen and oxygen to make water to the moon would not be necessary.

Yes, an attack for water, Comet juice, what have you. Its' at least 90% of your body mass and may be a determining factor, should we get off of our greedy asses and look to the stars for a moment, of evacuating a dying planet in the event of some cataclysmic apocalypse, which, let's face it, we are overdue for through fault of our own making if nothing else, history channel not withstanding.
