I am having the same problem (Oct. 2014). Suddenly this problem arose, and there must be a way to deactivate it. The Verizon store expert thought I was hitting the right hand key by mistake, and that was bringing it up. But with great caution, the app still appears. Does anyone know how to kill this thing? Page 111 et seq. of the manual shows how to turn off several features, but still getting same wording and problems.

What is AVR mode and AVR listening on my verizon cellphone? the phone is calle coupe....

...i cant turn off avr.? when the verizon coupe cell phone calls someone from inside the pocket it is closed. when you open the phone it gives some kind of message about avr mode. i cant figure out how to disable this feature. does anyone know? we even went to verizon and they said you cant turn it off. please help!
