Is it possible to re-shape already constructed SAPI Ceramic Bulletproof Plates?

I'm wondering if it is at all possible to alter the shape (primarily the curvature) of an already made SAPI Level IV Ceramic plate, or if the plate's shape is set permanently after it has been formed. If it is possible, would the process have excessively negative affects on the ballistics properties of the plate? I'm interested in using the plates on forearms, which would require re-shaping them to a degree for fitting purposes.
