Is cast iron cookware that is made in China safe?

I love using the cast iron pans I have and I want to buy some more but I am concerned as to whether the ones from China could have something unsafe in the manufacturing process. I know you're probably thinking, "just buy made in the USA". I would do that but the one I really want is only available from China. I think cast iron is always just cast iron with nothing added, but I'm not sure. Please, no surmising, I can do that but it doesn't work. So please respond only if you know what you're talking about. Thank you.
