A young mother takes her three year old child to the pediatrician for a routine checkup. When asked if she has any concerns regarding her daughter’s health in general, the mother states that her child frequently complains of pain in her right leg and left wrist and just yesterday she complained that her right arm was hurting. The pediatrician decides to send the child for an x-ray of the leg and arms. The x-rays showed evidence of old healed fractures in both the leg and wrist and a new complete fracture of the ulna bone in her right arm.
