Someone who knows about bikes if (ds650x)?

greetings, I have a ds 650 and crankshaft damage I, and is very expensive rod worth as 1000dlls. but I was told the workshop that can repair the damaged rod and is much cheaper, but not if you look good, according to the guy that manages it is very good and has a good reputation for motor heads and fix those things.
I agree but do believe that is reliable fix?
    What do you think?
I live in mexico, and you can only order the pieces on why it is so expensive
