I had a soldier who had a scooter. The bikes that only get up to 35 MPH. They have great gas milage. Ya know you have to have a helmet and wear the PT belt for safety reasons on post.
Yes. If you want to confine yourself to base and rely on your buddies to go elsewhere. You can even have a car. But really best to wait until you get to your first duty station.
If it is street legal and you take the motorcycle safety course so you can ride on post than it isn't a problem. Keep in mind you won't have a place to keep it covered if it rains etc.
