Call Wild Ones. They worked out a great setup for my wife on her Deluxe, even down to a different riser. I use their standard bagger bars on my SG and I am 6-3.

Just want to repeat what Avr2a said. I have 518s and a little adjustment at the riser makes a HUGE difference. Straight up inline with the triple tree and they're unbearable. Pulled back just a little and.... Ahhh. All the difference in the world. Combined with my backrest and couldn't be better. (07 RK, 5'10").
Ah, but then again.......

Well... 60 words / minute on the old keyboard doesn't hurt for things like this, so I will keep it coming! Back in the day, they made us take typing class in Junior High.. I am sure some of you guys will remember typewriters, DOS based computers, no cell phones or answering machines, and a big gaping hole in your dashboard for that 8 track tape! And I am only 41! But I digress...
Sat on a RK with 518's yesterday when I picked up my bike from the dealership (I swapped out my V&H MO's for HD SE Touring Muffs / Dyno'd.. awesome!), and these bars didn't have the wheelbarrel effect of the 508's, but the 1.75" less pullback combined with it's low height created a downward arm angle as I was holding the grips (sitting in my upright position). I could feel my shoulders 'dislocate' forward in order to have a relaxed hand position, and the verdict was in right then and there... they would eventually start to bother me if riding in the upright position / leaning towards the backrest.
It must be said that my low back is not the strongest it has ever been, and I could use some yoga / pilates (don't make fun.. there was a professional football player in the last class I went to, and Muhammed Ali was a Pilates devotee) to tighten it up a bit, but riding more upright / leaning back works best for me, and I am sure will help me keep my posture as I get older (I don't want to end up as one of the guys who are so slumped over that they look like an upside down U when they walk). More info and pics to come... of my 513's, and then the 502's when they go on in 2-3 weeks. Just ordered my Magnum Steel Braided Lines, and next year, when I have a bunch of chrome cash, will switch to the chrome hand controls. You think 2011 will be watercooled? j/k
Wrists / hands angle was an issue till I bought Premium Iso Grips with Throttle Boss. Appreciate.
There are so many handlebar threads that you would think it warrants a Sticky!
For anyone running Apes I have a question ? I have Apes on my Softail and love everything about them but I get blown around a lot at highway speeds - 70 plus. I'm sure anyone out there running Apes without a shield knows what I'm talking about. I'm thinking about putting 12.5 or 14in Apes on my Road King and I'm wondering how much the shield helps with this.
Just out of curiosity... how does the throttle boss help you... do you not have cruise control? Or is this designed to do something else? Thanks..
A shield makes all the difference in the world- difference between night and day, between doing hi speed comfortably or not at all. You gotta have a shield with apes at highway speeds above 70, unless your under 30 years old, ha!
Thanks Kbore
