It's a two step process:
Step 1: Use an Acetylene Torch to carefully heat the rubber to operating temperature
Step 2: Use a power sander. Make sure you scrub in the same direction or you'll look like you're riding backwards.
The final product should look like this:

lightly battered with the colonel's secret recipe!
The poor man's method is to just rub your tires parallel against a parking block a couple of time.
Tonyous.... Those look like the new Mich. Power Ones..?? How do you like them??

A serious reply here...on the pictures posted above, are those regular DOT street tires and when you do get to that degree of lean angle do you feel the wheel slide some or is it still gripping pretty good ?
They are in fact the new Power Ones and they rocked Laguna Seca. They are street legal but as you can see they just barely have any grooves in them so they are as close to a slick as you can get (I hear). They were super sticky and heated up really quickly. My friend was ripping it up after just a couple of turns. I myself waited a full lap before really putting it down. They grip was sensational. I never once lost confidence or even felt them sliding even a little. Granted I had highsided midway through the day at Buttonwillow my last trackday so I started off a little slower than usual but by the third session I felt pretty sure I was ripping like I usually do. My buddy used hers for another track day and about a month or two of street rides and the tires were done! I really can't comment myself on the wear since I have three ducs and use the 1098 only sparingly so I'm still going strong with mine.
Bottom line: Great high intensity street or medium/fast track day use. I am running slicks my next session at Laguna in Nov so i'll give you a comparison then! :-)
I heard this was what the can looked like before DP bought it over:
