On most courses they dont have to brake, downshift or line themselves up for multiple corners so im just wondering how anyone can consider them top level drivers?

It just appears to me that all they have to do is stay in top gear(the gear rule doesnt allow them to change gears even if they want to) and accelerate and control the sliding of the car which is a pretty standard skill all decent race drivers should posess.

So how can guys who rarely,if ever brake and when they do its not hard braking where the car is skittish and slides all over the place, dont have to have perfect down shifts, dont drive in the rain and dont have to drive on incredibly technical courses which if you go an inch or two wide in one corner your entry for the next is completely ruined.

I really dont see how these guys can be compared to touring car drivers, rally drivers, GT drivers, or F1 drivers in anyway. How exactly can people even try to rate them in the same league as any of those guys? Seriously
while F1 is definitely not what it used to be and the cars are too easy to drive nowadays they dont have Traction control or launch control. Id be more eager to compare with DTMs and touring cars as the cars are much more similar.
