Thread: how do you deal with being a outcast in your family ?

I had i rough childhood. Emotional abused and been raped as a teenager but 2 years ago i started therapy as well as a group therapy. I don't have a high education but never been on welfare and work 50 hours a week and manage to save a bit for retirement.I'm not looking for being praised for my actions but nobody in my family supports me and i feel alone.Some family members think acting as if i think i'm better than them which is not true. What should i do ? I explain over and over again but nobody ''gets' what i'm saying.

you got to stop explaining yourself to them..........they should be explaining themselves to you............i mean you did what you had to do and your doing it well and hopefully they will accept but if they don't then you keep living your life and they will come around eventually

Try to talk to them person to personnot in a sad or whiny voice but in a calm strong voicetell them how you've been trying to work for a better life for yourselfand you need their support and if they deny not giving you support tell them it feels like you have no supportif they don't budge cry and i'm very sorry about everything
