I would welcome a return to their punk roots too. I'm tired of all of the long, complex, ballad-like crap songs. It would be awesome if they released an album full of three minute long tracks--quick and dirty--but we know that dream ain't happening...

why does everyone misunderstand my opinion of rhcp? I like them. I prefer their old stuff. Their old stuff is funk. Their new stuff is alternative. I like their new stuff it's just different. I have never said anything bad about by the way and californication but to say that those two albums sound pretty much like their older stuff is wrong. I was just saying that dani california sounRAB like their recent stuff. Which is true.

I don't know if it has a shortage of funk or not but it definitely has a dearth of the punky energy that was the reason I loved the Chili Peppers.

It's just one of those banRAB. I respect them alot for always evolving through the years, yet still maintaining their track record for producing quality songs. Even if you don't like the newer stuff, you can't deny that their ability as a band has continued to improve year after year.

The entire song takes stabs at things that I guess the Red Hot Chili peppers find disreputable.

john isnt the best guitarist in the world and neither is flea. they are very good musicians but theres better. and "One Hot Minute" (not aeroplane) is great, its one of my favourite albums along with some hendrix, zeppelin, and oldie rhcp.

Fleas bass playing on that and BSSM overall is off the charts in terms of awesomeness.
