is it possible that sciatic nerve damage and back injury can cause you tolose control of your leg and just fall to your knees without notice?

Yes. Nerves can cause muscles to shut down. It can also cause bowel and bladder control problems.

I would say it is definitely possible. I am 12 months post op from lurabar back surgery. My recovery has been very slow. My entire core muscle system is weak. It is getting stronger. About two months ago, I inadvertently bumped my hip on a counter causing a sideways jarring of my spine. I dropped to the floor like a sack of potatoes. It was like a switch had been turned off on the nerves to my leg muscles. I pulled myself up and I was fine. Very strange occurrence. Since then, I have been able to strengthen my core muscles. It appears that the added strength protects my spine from jarring a little more than before.
