My one older cat licks the rubber part of my hammer almost every day. I did not spill anything on it and I am wondering what his little body is telling him he needs in his diet? Any cat food specialists out there?

One of my cats loves to lick the wall....who knows why. Maybe he likes the texture or smell of it.
