Why is human population never considered?

Why is the human population on the earth never considered when looking at the problems we face and the earth its faces? If we truly are higher than animals shouldn't we be able to look at solving our problems with objectivity?

Is human population thrown out as an issue because it drives capitalism? Is it just about religion? Is it about us and them? What is the reason this issue is put in the closet?

What is your opinion abou this?

It will not happen in a democracy. Taking away people's rights to reproduce is political suicide. Now...a place like china...they can pull it off...fewer people are running things and there is little opposition to the government.

People talk about human population all the time...

The problem is it is a bit hard to control. We can't kill people who are already living, and encouraging people in poor nations to have less children is a bit hopeless as it goes against their self interest (more kids means more labor means more money for the family).
