We bought a Toyota estima two days ago and have been told by people including the rac that they are great cars but prone to overheating.

On our journey today the temperature guage shot right up and steam was appearing from the bonnet. When my husband opened the bonnet we could see coolant pouring from the overflow pipe.

We have topped up with water several times but it keeps emptying.

As we have just bought the car we do not know what coolant was in the car before, and I have read on forums that water cannot be mixed with Toyota red coolant...however the liquid pouring out looked greeny yellow and not red.

Any ideas what to do? We need to do a very long car journey tomorrow!
