Let's say one partner has really great credit, never missed a payment on anything, uses credit cards properly, pays cash for their cars, and owes no money. What happens if that person gets married to someone who has had late-paid loans and abandoned credit cards, doesn't budget things well, etc. When the second person pays off all they owe, but still has a bad history, how long does that stay on his records? If the two get married, will that history negatively affect the credit of the other spouse? For how long? Just wondering.
