    Hello Suzuki Rider,

Actually, there are NO safe jobs in the military. You can be hurt, maimed, or killed in any job.

Every year, even, people on active duty die in accidents at stateside bases on the job. Also, people die in auto accidents when they least expect it. You just never hear of a person dying because a fork lift turned over on them in the warehouse. We lost a security policeman who drove his motorcycle into a telephone pole when he lost control. It was sad going to his memorial service in the base chapel. And, this was in Illinois.

Yes, if you join the Army or Marines your chances of deployment to a fighting zone are greater and even "expected." But, if you are in the Navy, you could have an accident on ship, even. People do get lost at sea you know. Nothing is fool proof. If you are in the Air Force there could be an accident working on an aircraft even in the states.

So, just have faith and trust in your safety training. Keeping a clear mind and attention to detail will go a long way to helping you protect your life. Goes for civilian life as well as military life.

    Best wishes.
