I am not sure that is true - I presume by the top level you mean the first dream - the dreamer there was Yusuf the chemist because they remarked about it raining because he needed to go to the toilet having drunk too much champagne. Fisher was the mark and only sharing the dream with the others.
While I don't think it was as deep or clever as most folks rave about, if this was the standard base level for a Hollywood film I would be a very happy bunny indeed
Lukey, I'm thinking about going to see this, but given the 2 1/2 hour running time, I'm thinking it's more one for Blu-ray. Also have a very long drive to my nearest cinema.
Does the film drag at all? I usually need a stretch, yawn and toilet stop not long after 2 hours.
Well, I have to admit that I went back and saw it again - couldn't resist. I've never returned to the cinema to see a film for a second time and to be honest I would happily watch it for a third as it was just as good (and I understood it all properly this time!).
The scene with Saito as an old man, at the beginning and at the end, was in limbo, not in reality. Cob had to find Saito in limbo so that he could be reminded of his promise.
After that we see them on the plane with Saito doing that phone call so that Cob could get into the US without being arrested.
I had to see the film twice. At the first time I did not understand that at all.
I got to see this at the Imax in London on Saturday night and I was absolutely blown away, and not just because it was my first time experiencing an Imax screening but because the film was absolutely amazing, with an incredible cast, great writing, mindblowing special effects...it really had everything! I've rarely been so impressed and I really want to see it again because I know I'd enjoy it even more the second time, when I don't have to worry so much about taking everything in. I'm not obsessed with special effects but in this case they fit perfectly with the story, rather than overshawed it. The music by Hans Zimmer was also fantastic...one of the best scores ever!
I do feel it's a cinema movie, though. I can't imagine enjoying it nearly as much on DVD because it was clearly made for the big screen.
Apparently Inception will be released in Imax screens next Summer as Chris Nolan has shot several specific scenes with Imax cameras for the film.
Rumours abound if you see Avatar at an Imax cinema you will also see a trailer for Inception. Those who do see Avatar at an Imax cinema please let us know if this is true or not.
Booked my tickets for the IMAX a week on Saturday...can't wait, hope it doesn't disappoint!
I thought the soundtrack to Inception was superb. First thing I did was go home and download it! Maybe the chord sequence just appeals to me or something but it makes the hairs stand up on the back of my neck.
