Iphone - vs. Eris vs. Omnia II: User Going back to VZW - HELP

EV-DO the 3G in CDMA, does take up a bit more battery usage than UMTS which is the 3G in GSM. However, in my experience, EV-DO can sustain data connections better under degraded signal conditions than UMTS.

Sorry one more thing - Verizon network kicks but...forgot what it was like to not worry about dropped calls. On a call from NYC to DC on a train that never dropped once (even through baltimore tunnels).

Iphone would have dropped about 10-15 times during that run

By the way, if you do keep the Eris, you'll be blown away once it gets updated to OS 2! The Google Navigator is simply amazing!

You'd be disappointed coming from the Eris. Resistive touchscreen (less precise, no intuitive gestures), gimmicky interface and weaker apps.

There is also something about Samsung that loves to use all sorts of neon colors in various parts of the interface. Major turn off.

Also OLED screen is beautiful and brilliant on dark rooms, but totally washed out and near useless in daylight.

Iphone - vs. Eris vs. Omnia II: User Going back to VZW - HELP

I think the Eris broke my back today. had it working fine with the whole % awake bug and it was in the teens. then today payed my bill on verizon, got a text notification and the messages application launched again (and keeps launching). I have invested enough time and this straw broke my back.

It is ridiculous that this thing was shipped with this bug. It makes the phone completely unusuable. not sure where that leaves me but I declare i am finished working around this buggy phone and operating system.

I don't want to say that I was right, but I was right.

What are you going to next?
