Was.
Was.
The word is hero. They go above and beyond the call of duty, they stand up and grab the bull by the horns even if its not their fight.
What we don't have as a president is a hero. He talks big, backs up when confronted and talks about eating your peas.
Give the tea party what they want.
It's pretty much totally sensible in terms of cutting spending, since entitlements are essentially worthless except for spawning large nurabers of future prisoners/welfare users.
I'm not a progressive.
But let's not forget the love Conservatives have of autocrats.
You know, people like Francisco Franco, Ante Pavelic, Augusto Pinochet, and to an extent both Hitler and Mussolini (who had support of the conservatives in Germany and Italy).
Autocracy is generally liked by pragmatists because it WORKS. You don't have to pander to idiots and write pointless and inane policies for them when you have someone leading a country by force of will.
You really think any of the nominees from the republican party are gonna defeat him?
Good luck, you're gonna need it.
BTW, it was congress, not Obama who lost our credit rating. It clearly states we need revenues and spending cuts.
He should have listened to S&P and raised revenues along with cutting medicare.
If tax revenues are off the table, so should medicare. They won't compromise, neither should Obama.
Give Obama want he wants.
Does one bad Jew make all Jews bad?
Cut spending enough and you could run a surplus next year. That would obviously improve the credit rating all the same.
The question is, are you willing to cut loose America's worthless underlcass to do it? The sacrifice of the bungled and botched seems a fitting sacrifice in these difficult times.
How you think a country should be run /= How a country should be run
McCain/Palin would have been an absolute disaster for this country. Although Obama hasn't delivered, they would have done much worse.
