Crackers? Seriously?
Crackers? Seriously?
Not wearing proper protection, IMHO, gets you a free ticket to the "Darwin List "(Those riders who improve the gene pool when they are removed from it).
I'm not saying full leathers each and every time. But these days there are kevlar denims, god knows how many mesh protective jackets, decent breathing boots. The lot.
How long does it take to pull on a pair of jeans and slip on some zip-up boots?
How long does it take to heal because some dickhead side-swiped you and you weren't able to react in time? Or you had the briefest lapse in concentration?
Simple equation.
Of course, you tote freedom. There's no laws stating I have to wear all this gear apart from my helmet. We have the same freedoms.
And those short rides are the ones you're more likely to get screwed up on.
So you enjoy that.
I'm a SQUID I admit it (Guilty)
I wear shorts when I ride around town, Call me the Biggest SQUID... EVER....
We just have (GREAT WEATHER HERE IN CALIFORNIA)
all year
To each their own. What a person wears is their business, ride safe and hopefully you won't have to use your gear!
Guys,
All the gear, all the time!
Anything less is foolish.
Elton
You sure about that????? ALL THE TIME????
In all the years of riding (25)... I have never met a rider
that wears all his gear everytime he starts his bike
But maybe you Do...
I practice risk management when I make my gear decicions.
Well Said!
+1... some probably would call me a squid, not as bad as I use to be. In the past I use to ride my ninja 250 in shorts/trunks to a friends house to go swimming... no long trips in short, but then again more accidents happen near home.
