    Have just heard Harrison Ford(on BBC news) claim that "History shows that an

    individual can change nothing"? That's a bit pessimistic isn't it? What would get done if everyone believed that? Bugger all I'd say!

    This was with regard to Global warming btw!

    its true only a large number of people acting together can cause change an individual can motivate them but not cause the actual change

    everything starts with 1 the big bang started with 1 singular object or all life began with one god . everyjourney starts with one step so yes one person has to be able to change the world

    Considering there have been something like 40 billion people in human history and only a handful of Gandhis and Buddhas and Martin Luther Kings, I'd say he might have a point. Individuals who can affect real change are exceedingly rare.
