Thread: Three days post op lumbar fusion

I am three days post op from a l4/l5 spinal fusion on 1/13/2011 and I must say that I feel good. I am now pain free as I do suffer from post op pain, but thats all. My timeline is as follows:

1/2009- intermittent back pain while running
2/2009- visited primary care physician and received anti-inflammatories
4/2009- debilitating back pain, left leg and foot on the top and bottom nurab
6/2009- microdisectomy/ continous pain and nurabness
8/2009 - physical therapy/water aerobics unsuccessful
9/2009- spinal injections/ unsuccessful
10/2009- 2nd microdisectomy/ continuous pain and nurabness
1/2010-3/2010- spinal injections/unsuccessful
4/2010-6/2010- accupuncturist/ unsuccessful
7/2010-9/2010- spinal decompression/ chiropractor/ unsuccessful

Left leg and foot nurabness has gone from total nurabness to about a two or three level of nurabness. Pray helps

Good Luck, Take it easier then you think, even baby yourself for at least 3 weeks. I felt really good after mine and then had some muscle spasm complications from over doing. Glad you are feeling better, the healing will come just give it time. Be encouraged by all your small steps, like the nurabness getting better!!
