I would like to know the method(s) used for manipulating the cell cycle to maximise chromosome quality (I'm not exactly sure what that means myself).

This is for clinical analysis of the chromosomes to detect genetic defects. Just brief explanations will be fine.

Thanks for the info, but I think it might possibly be referring to getting all the cells in your sample to be at the same stage of the cell cycle. I think you can possibly do this by withholding nutrients or something but I really can't remember? Or heat shock/cold shock?
