With the release of the next greatest iPhone coming in just a few weeks, Apple will again likely pull off (another) of what some might call the most hyped product launch in tech history.Whether you believe the hype or not, like many other Apple product launches, we're seeing the product marketing machine in full effect. What appear to be rumors and (unauthorized?) leaks have been swirling for weeks, stirring up a feeding frenzy the Silicon Valley tech press can't ignore.
Again reaching epic proportions as launch day draws nigh, consumers too are already salivating at the stats. The iPhone might be the most iconic digital device to have people swooning, but it's is not the only phone to generate this kind of buzz before launch.
With a high hype factor and grand expectations, here's a look back at a few high-profile phone launches that had the weight of the buzz machine behind them -- but them didn't all work out. Amongst the star's were a few fantastic flops.
