IF******* that was feasible for you. I realize it's not for everyone. My maternity benefits are up soon. Some corners need cut.
Out of this list, which would you ditch?
-satellite tv
-internet
-your cell phone

We DID ditch some of those things so that I could stay at home. We have basic cable ($11/mo.) We have the slowest internet the company provides ($13/mo.) Had to keep the cell phones though...because we ditched the landline.
Just from your list, I'd pick TV. There's nothing good on ANY channels most of the time, so no need to have 100+ channels of garbage to choose from. If you get rid of the internet...how will you get on YA...
I could live without TV, but not the web or a cell phone!
To be honest, I don't think I could be a stay at home mom. I was just talking to my best friend who is a SAH yesterday about how lonely she is. Her husband works all the time and most of her friends work so it's just her and the baby most of the time. I'd do crazy! As guilty as it sometimes makes me feel, I really enjoy having time to be with other adults and not having to worry about anyone but myself.
That's tough. I would not get rid of the cell phone because it can be used for safety purposes. It would be awful to be stranded on the side of the road with your baby and not have a cell phone to call someone for help, etc.
I guess I would say Satellite TV, because you can watch a lot of shows on the internet, also it's not good for babies to watch TV until at least 2 years old, studies show that it is linked with developmental delays and hyperactivity. And you would still have the internet for entertainment.
Personally I'd ditch the cell phone, assuming you still have a landline. But then, I don't have a cell phone at all, and don't see the need for it.
(Or you could switch to a very cheap pay-as-you go phone solely for emergencies.)
