Read:
Uglies, by Scott Westerfield. It's a sci-fi book set in the future, about a girl named Tally, living in a city of Uglies (normal looking people) where everyone at the age of 16 gets radical surgery to become a Pretty (a perfect person). She gets blackmailed by Special Circumstances, or the Specials for short, who are kind of like a secret police department, to find a place called the Smoke, where her friend Shay has run off to cos she didn't want her surgery. There she unwittingly brings The Smoke to an end, and yeah, it's one hell of an exciting book.
I might not have described it well, but try reading it because it's the best science fiction book I've ever read. That's why I'm recommending it to you.
gone by michael grant he also just made a sequel hunger and i think its gonna be the next "twilight" or "harry potter" cuz even thought its not as written as gr8 the plots AMAZING!! its really cool.
i also really like the secret under my skin but i dont think its sci fi.
