Thread: 2002 ford explorer rough idle?

I have an 02 ford explorer with the 4.0 V6. I t has 90,000 miles on it and idles kinda rough. I put new plugs and wires and a half a tank of premium gas in it and it still idles bad. Not real bad it doesnt stall or anything but when your sitting in it you can feel the rpms drop and come back. No check engine light, Any thoughts?
what the hell do you mean "uh, check your engine" nice answer. Check your head for a brain!
It has a clean K&N air filter.

sounds like you might have a vacuum leak(s) somewhere or an e.g.r. valve that could be partly stuck open

uh, check ur engine.

Try some fuel injection cleaner in the gas and a new air cleaner.
