We all have heard the rumors and complaints about this year's official World Cup ball 'Jabulani' by Adidas. FIFA invested millions into it's unveiling and it's been downright disastrous, given it resembles at times a wiffle-ball post bounce and during-flight, or it has 'too perfect' of a surface that eliminates touch and/or 'english' that some players like to use.

QUESTIONS:

? That said, what was the old ball from yesteryear like?
Specifically that brown ball with the unusual, horizontal patterns and resembling a medicine ball comparatively. Granted it was state of the art back in the 60's.

? When was it introduced and when was it last used?

? Is it still manufactured for nostalgic fans of the old, classic equipment?
btw: I could be wrong about this ball being in the 60s. Perhaps earlier?
