Does it require internet at all and if so does it have to be on both phones? What can bluetooth do?

It can transfer files from one phone to another, from a phone to a computer, or you can connect a wireless headset to your phone. Most new laptop computers have bluetooth built in, or you can get a USB bluetooth adapter.
