Jurassic Park 4 is rumoured to start filming before the end of the year as producer Frank Marshall (
Are they making one,or is it a suggestion?
Was Deep Rising cinema released?
The realism of the dinosaurs in the first Jurassic Park isn't just down to the CG, it's also the great practical effects (the T-Rex head is the greatest thing ever) and Spielberg's amazing directing. Spielberg made sure they didn't go beyond their capabilities. Imagine if in 1993 Jurassic Park they'd tried to do what Peter Jackson did in 2005 King Kong - a huge fight scene between Kong and three T-Rexes. The effects would have looked really BAD then. Spielberg was very subtle with the CG and so it worked really well.
No matter what, CG looks fake. Relying on it too much makes a movie lose a certain edge. I think King Kong JUST gets away with it because there are so many practical effects elements (the model work for Skull Island), and Peter Jackson wanted it to have a studio special effects feel. Also, Kong, like with Gollum, relies a heck of a lot on an Andy Serkis's performance. He's not just a CG creature. That helps a lot.
I think they should have stopped after the first one, if not earlier.
I love Jurassic Park. It's one of my fave films but what Spielberg did to the Lost World was horrendous. I was so excited after reading the book but he made a completely different movie. the 3rd one was watchable so i don't really see the point in making a 4th. I hope they do a good job though if they do and maybe i can forget the 2nd and 3rd.
It will never happen. I can only see this 4th movie going direct to video, i know it doesnt mention that but theres a chance it could go direct to video.
Its a suggestion, it was cinema released i remember seeing trailers for it at least 12months before it was released wishing theyd hurry up & release it.
So am I the only one who liked the first 2 but hated JP3?
The action in the first 2 films was really well-done and they both had some great set-pieces, but in JP3 it just seemed like your typical hollywood action film and bored me to death.
Not with Steven Spielberg involved. If it was going straight to video there would be no point in making it and they wouldnt waste their time and money.
