Wow!!! I'm psychic - Emma Crosby lands job on BBC News Channel!!

Here's what I wrote on this forum a few months ago -

I really think she'dbe better off on BBC News 24 rather than a breakfast show like GMTV where you need to be spontatious and have a lot of banter. - 24th January 2010.

''I remember she repoerted live from Downing Street for GMTV for the G20 summit!!! She was fantastic and came across really well. I think light-enterainment just wasn't her thing. I really wish BBC News or ITV News.'' - 14th Septmeber 2010.




It has now been reported that Emma Crosby has now been offered a job on BBC News.

Wow that's fantastic news! She's close frienRAB with my mate Chris Kenna, he's told me all about her, nothing but praise. Apparently they were both in the running for the job together (with one other person) but she won the panel over, totally stole the show as they say.

Good luck to her, and good luck to Chris Kenna (and to the third, un named auditionee!)

Don't newsreaders often move around the different news organisations? Surely it was just a matter of time that she would end up at the BBC or ITN having previously worked as a newsreader for Sky News and CNBC Europe?

Probably. I think she left CNBC in 2003? I remember reading it somewhere. It was before I started watching it anyway. I remember reading somewhere too (can't remember the website right now) that she went on CNBC US for a few weeks but then went back to CNBC Europe?

So that big career move to the USA didn't come off , oh well working for the beeb is some compensation. Now she can join those other news reading luminaries Fiona thingy , Selina Scott and Juliet Dunlop ( what d'ya mean you've never heard of them ? )

Erm she will be also working for CNN, so she is off to the states. BBC News i think will only be a couple of shifts

She is certainly more suited to the BBC News style of presentation where everything is much more co-ordinated and by-the-numbers.

She didn't possess the spontaneity for the gossip and fluff on GMTV.

Well I suppose that's fair enough coming from channels like CNBC, which I think has a similar presentation style to BBC News (I should know really )
