is a chopper type bike a good beginning bike for a new rider?

i want to buy a chopper and i ask my buddies and i keep getting mixed answers and i need someone elses opinion

Not if the chopper has a longer wheel base. Short wheel base bike turn sharper, they are the easiest to take a driving test. Bike that a lighter, short wheel base, smaller engine are the best for driving test. Ride what is confront able for you to ride and drive.

it depends, if you are short then a cruiser is great as they generally have a low seat height,
the down side to cruisers is the generally don't handle too well,
if you like cruisers then great, go for it,
but personally i would look at something a bit more practical, and up right in its riding position
