If you live in a good neighborhood with lots of untidy yards this should be easy. I used to do this when I was little too. Just go around knocking from door to door asking if they need their lawn mowed, weeds pulled, planting a flower bed, putting in mulch, watering plants etc. If they have a need they will hire you on the spot. Then you walk or ride your bike home, get the tools you need, and they pay you when the job is done. The proper answer for how much to get paid is to tell the person "Pay me whatever you think is fair". They usually give extra to kids who are willing to help around the neighborhood.
