Depends on the client since some clients of emule connect only to edonkey, than i reather use edonkey, but u can modify boath and than connect to torrents or gnutella also.

emule seems to work the best for me, other than bittorrent of course.

i use actually rarely in emule, just for downloading "waf" releases..
but i use old emule. 0.42 because it is faster and resourse saver..

Emule has been derived from edonkey, but look today, the number of ppl using emule are far-far more than those using Edonkey, hence the automatic winner is... Apart from this, look at the number of new versions of Emule that is released every year and you'll understand that lots of people are helping this programme to become better and better.. that is not the case with Edonkey
