a lump in your throat when you eat

after i have eaten i can often feel a lump in my throat. is my food stuck there? i've asked my mum but she doen't no....it some times causes discomfot as i feel like i cant breate . also its hard 2 swalow my food as i feel like i may choke.

It could be acid reflux (GERD). Go to the Acid Reflux board. There are a lot of helpful people there.

You may need to slow down and not eat too fast.

Be sure you chew food until it is mush, about 20 times each bite.

Do not eat until you are stuffed.

I get food stuck in my throat and I can see it back there if I use a light in the mirror. I will scratch at it with a fingernail and sometimes a big piece will come out and it is soft and white and squishy like bread or cheese and sometimes grayish on the outside. I wish I had a better way of getting it out because my fingers can hurt the back of my throat. A doctor used a tongue depressor and got it out once. But what I really need is a camera that is small enough for me to get a good look and a gentle stick or tool for scraping the food out while I'm watching on a computer screen with the camera like my dentist has to photograph my teeth on her computer screen.
