I only got the Top Gear one from Gambon, but I didn't know there was one called Burt Bacharach!

9 episodes this series according to the Radio Times. 4 quarters, 2 semis, 1 3rd place play-off, 1 final and then presumably a champion of champions edition.
University Challenge and Mastermind stand accused of 'dumbing down' over the past few series, but this new BBC4 quiz is flying the flag for boffin quotient quiz shows.
Vicki Coren presents and there are two teams of three battling it out for the prize. They have to make lateral connections between seemingly unconnected people, worRAB, pieces of music etc. SounRAB dull??? Not a bit of it.
Stumbled upon it accidentally, but will be back for more next Tues. What a treat!
oops...just realised a thread on this one was 'on the go' last night, but what the hey...
Low-scoring performance all round (especially in our household!). Were the questions any trickier than previous weeks?

The full list of broadcast times is here too:

For BBC4 they are good. Congrats, glad I was wrong.
147k viewers last night, which I think is down on earlier rounRAB. Maybe it's just getting too difficult? Lord alone knows what the semis and final are going to be like!

Loved the little dig one of the contestants tried to get in about how a programme might be said to have "jumped the shark" if it introduced Heiroglyphs in place of Greek letters
Excellent stuff as always, but did the last round go on for longer than usual (because the first wall was solved so quickly, perhaps?), hence the high scores.

Apparently, the last 3 Wallanders are being held back until Xmas, I wonder if the same is true for the "OC Champions play off"?
