    Albums You're Digging II

Just thought I'd add that I'm only five tracks into this, and already it's one of the most fun musical experiences I've had in a while.

Definitely gets my official seal of approval then.

    Slint - Slint EP (1994)

Who cares if it's only two songs and like thirteen minutes, the EP is a shining example of everything I like. Heavy, well crafted, and not boring. The last point is one I like to hold up very high, because while I am not some Ritalin popping person who cannot function if music isn't loud and energetic, when I see the term "Rock" attached to a genre I don't think it's farfetched of me to think the album might actually "rock out" at some point. If Slint is one of the biggest influences on the Post-Rock genre then why is it nearly every album I've listened to that has come out in the last ten years has nearly put me to sleep for being so boring? Kudos to Slint for not thinking that the term "Rock" was completely optional.

    On a soundtrack kick lately:

I still cannot get over the fact that his original band was Pop Will Eat Itself

I have both versions of the soundtrack because I'm a Romero zorabie freak. Brilliant proggy atmospheric soundtrack.

I have the DVD and the ripped the music off it, it's such high quality.

Boys Noize - Oi Oi OI
enjoying this just now, some good dance music. First time Ive listened to it all the way through, but favourable first impression.

    Skream - s/t
Skream is, after Burial, my next foray into the world of dubstep. I've listened to this 4 times this week and now that it's sunk in fully, I'm enjoying it immensely. Next up on the dubstep playlist is Kode9 & the Spaceape, and then Benga.

    Slowdive - Pygmalion
This album has fully engrossed me this week...I liked it a lot before but after a while without hearing it i stuck it on earlier in the week, and now I'm addicted. I love everything about it, every song is excellent and the production is immense. I would without hesitation place it in my top 15 albums of all time.

Thurston Moore - Trees Outside the Academy
Really digging this album by Sonic Youth's guitarist...nice to see that he's capable of making great music with acoustic guitars, as well as his normal electric dissonant style. Much better than his previous solo album (not counting the many noise releases he's done)

Breathtakingly beautiful melodic and organic IDM. If you like Plaid and strings, get this.

So uh... never knew I liked dub? I tend to shy away from reggae, I've never found much I like outside of the occasional Bob Marley, Peter Tosh, and Ziggy Marley (and I confess I haven't listened to the second 2 since I quit smoking up) but apparently I ****ing love Scientist. I've seen people talk about him on here many times, and I finally decided to check it out. The question is, where do I go from here? This is quite literally the only dub I have ever heard, I'd like to find more though.

I got my copy yesterday and have been loving it since. I may be overexcited but I think that this is my favorite LP of his.
I also didn't realize until now that he's a meraber of the Coltrane family. Some of them play on this album and it makes FLs sound (here and on old suff) feel even more legit. A jazz background explains a lot of it.
