    Albums You're Digging II

    Hogz in Dandyland - S/T

The Sky Drops - Bourgeois Beat

    Shwayze - S/T

3 great albums, Hogz in Dandyland is an interesting mix of psychedelic music, rock, a bit of country, and some other cool stuff. The Sky Drops are sort of grungy shoegaze I suppose. The last, well, I imagine it's not too popular here but I ****ing love their laid back chill hip hop/rock sound.

I also found in the aeroplane over the sea to be pretty much crap. I don't care how much "Raw emotion" is in his voice or how "sincere" it is. I think its funny that you if think if someone doesn't like the album then they must think that generic pop singers are great o.0

    Venetian Snares - Find Candace

Been re-cycling through his discog lately.

    dynArec - Overland Travelling

I got this maybe a month ago but hadn't played it till now. Good techno/electro. But he, or somebody, spelled traveling wrong.

I only have In A Silent Way, I'd love to hear more lucifer_sam approved Davis if you wouldn't mind.

    Anyways..

I joined this board almost exclusively listening to Elliott Smith. I've grown out of this rut since then, but today I put on New Moon for the first time in a long was reminded why I love this sad bastard so much. Besides his s/t, New Moon is the best example of Elliott in his lo-fi acoustic-y prime. It's only a compilation, but I'd rate it over Roman Candle and Either/Or easily.

DJ Tiesto - In Search of Sunrise 3: Panama

Seeing as I was in a place where Trance was nonexistent, I only knew of the most popular tracks. Hearing songs I would have never known about, but still recognizing the old school sound, is a really weird feeling. Kind of like nostalgia.. even though I've never heard a good portion of these tracks before.

I don't pay any attention to this hipster thing, before I joined rab I didn't even know what one was. Just because a load of twats love it, that doesn't take away how great the album is. 5 star album. I never really took to Avery Island as much.

    Albums You're Digging II

Modest Mouse "The Moon and Antarctica"

Often considered their masterpiece and while it isn't my favorite this is the album that got me into Modest Mouse and its damn good. This album is quite a bit to swallow like the Soft Bulletin or 69 Love Songs but when it hits it really hits.
Favorite Songs: 3rd Planet, Tiny Cities Made of Ashes, Gravity Rides Everything, Wild Pack of Family Dogs, The Stars are Projectors, Paper Thin Walls

Thao Nguyen with the Get Down Stay Down "We Brave Bee Stings And All"

Like Cat Power but happy, like Feist but good, It's Thao Nguyen with the Get Down Stay Down. This is one of my favorite releases of 08 currently and one of my favorite releases currently, ever since I heard it two hours ago I've been listening to it on repeat =]. I basically described the sound so uh, yeah check it out it's solid and fun and happy.
Favorite Songs: Beat (Health, Life, and Fire), Fear and Convenience, Geography, Big Kid Table

The Thermals "The Body, The Blood, The Machine"

Built to Spill inspired indie-pop with punk tendencies in vein of the Hold Steady. Oregon rockers the Thermals are one of my favorite artists right now I'm glad I checked them out, they've been on my radar for awhile but I've never listened to them until now.
Favorite Songs: Here's Your Future, A Pillar of Salt, Test Pattern, Returning to the Fold

Jens Lekman "Night Falls Over Kortedala"

Beautiful Swedish indie-pop, Jens lyrics are full of witticism and pure genius and coupled with one of the most beautiful voices of the past 10 years he manages to create one of my favorite albums ever. I've been listening to this more and more lately.
Favorite Songs: The Opposite of Hallelujah, A Postcard to Nina, It Was a Strange Time in My Life, I'm Leaving You Because I Don't Love You
