Have never been a huge Elvis Costello fan, but I got this for a friend and it's really warming up to me pretty quickly

You know I did hear about that, I had to Wiki them to see where they were from when I first heard them, I knew that the singer had an accent. Do you know if it's possible to hear the first things they've recorded? Or the hardcore stuff, anyways?
I have their entire discog, and some other like bootlegs I think maybe? on my laptop but its dead atm, so all I have on my mp3 player is Deceit
Good choices. The above image is What Burns Never Returns by Don Caballero.
see them drift upon the breeze... DANDELION SEERAB
Well maybe not just the shoegazy stuff from France, but I have noticed a big increase in higher rated Black Metal albums on Rate Your Music. It's kind of more going to be about seeing such a secular genre slowly becoming more widely known around the world, and what that may mean for the original intent of the music.
oh... and have been buying a few albums via this marvellous site (actually I stream the tracks, cop the liner notes, then save 3 quid downloading from Amazon MP3) ..
Everything's tagged so you can also browse by country. Smithsonian Folkways - The nonprofit record label of the Smithsonian Institution
Polish through-and-through so pretty much shat myself with delight on finding stuff like this
It was nice just to sit down and read liner notes, have decent sound quality etc. I really dont do it enough.
Nice one! I dunno about it being better than the debut though. The title track is a masterpiece though. Their '82 album True Democracy is far and away my favourite (I only didn't mention it in that reggae thread as it's more of a roots/dancehall crossover album).
Anyway, these have been getting a lot of airtime round my way;
^ A much brighter version of Berlin, with much more of a melodic leaning than the former. It's good, but not Berlin-good unfortuntely.
^ I've barely listened to this in years. Shame really - it is classic, early electronica after all.
^ Still kicks as much arse as when I first heard it.
i've just been getting into these guys myself...really really good music. if you like them check out school of seven bells. it is a bit different, but in the same vein as m83 and just as enjoyable.
i love stereolab and mars audiac quintet is one of their best. have you checked out emperor tomato ketchup and dots and loops yet? those are two more favorites of mine.
