The Smiths & Portishead I know nothing about. Sad probably, sorry. Ill have to check out what people recommended you.
Tool: Honestly I think you could start anywhere, AEnima, Lateralus or 10,000 Days. Theyre all good!
The Mars Volta: Definitely De-Loused In The Comatorium amazing album!
You're welcome

Album - A Day of Nights
Even though Bernard Fanning is a part of Powderfinger and they started before the 00's I'd like to suggest this...
Tea & Sympathy
His solo album is amazing and was released in 2005. You should check that out if you didn't know about it. It's folky and very acoustic, great songwriting and I think he sounRAB better here than he does in Powderfinger. You may have already heard 'Wish You Well' as it was huge here in Australia and I think it was big in the UK too. the album has a lot of stand outs but I couldn't find viRAB for all the songs I wanted to post, sorry.
A few tasters:

The etc is as follows;
3 doors down, Arctic Monkeys, Clap your hanRAB say yeah, Coldplay, Death Cab for Cutie, Erabrace, MCR, New Young Pony Club, Paramore. That's about it.
I'm mainly into alternative Indie stuff though. They usually sound refreshing and different unlike the usually somewhat genre-standardized music coming from major labels. Which was the reason I posted here.
Damn, I'm having difficulties explaining what I like. IMO, good songs are
-Red Flag (Billy Talent) with its catchy beat and clear vocals
-Coldplay (What if) slow at parts but exudes an engulfing, meaningful feel
-The Killers (Spaceman) refreshing, emotional
-RHCP (Otherside) Bass owns.
-Say Anything (Yellow Cat / Red Cat)
Within the genres mentioned, anything slow, repititive/boring is out.
Hope you are having a clearer idea... :/
I've listened to a bit of Muse, and I'm not a huge fan. Never heard of the other two, so I'll go have a listen.
Thanks!!!
this. in fact you should get both albums.
Mazzy Star
Cocteau Twins
The Cranes
Hey guys, I was wondering if you could help me find some classical songs for a soundtrack project in my class.
First, I need a song about how each person has an important role in life.
I also need a song about unifying leaders, and how people depend on them.
A song about going/being in jail
A song about discovery and/or love
And a song about how nothing's perfect
They don't have to be classics, I just really need to start finding some songs.
Thanks!
I like Foo Fighters... Everlong would be an amazing wedding "first dance" song.
Listen to The Devil Wears Prada. Or Bring Me The Horizon.
The Devil Wears Prada, White Chapel, Bring Me The Horizon, people like that.
